A distinguished leader in entrepreneurship, small business, and capital formation, the Honorable Dr. Winslow Sargeant heads Capital Markets and serves as the Senior Advisor for Globalization at Genaesis. In this capacity, Dr. Sargeant works to identify key, third-party capital partners both domestically and internationally able to facilitate optimized valuations and deal structures for Genaesis clients.

With a remarkable career as an entrepreneur, Dr. Sargeant co-founded Aanetcom in 1997, a computer-circuit design company, which was acquired by publicly traded PMC-Sierra for $900M just three years later. As an investor, he has participated in numerous private equity and venture capital funds in both limited and managing partner capacities.

Dr. Sargeant is a Kauffman Fellow, a member of the Presidential Leadership group at Stevens Institute of Technology, a Trustee for the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), a Trustee at Northeastern University, a Trustee for the Morgridge Institute for Research, and a founding board member of First Women's Bank (FWB).

In 2010, Dr. Sargeant was appointed by President Obama as Chief Counsel for Advocacy and was unanimously confirmed by the US Senate in 2011. In this role, he represented the independent voice of small business before the White House, US Congress, and the Federal Courts. Currently, as the Chairman of the Board of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), Dr. Sargeant advocates for the development of robust small business infrastructure worldwide and mentors businesses directly to accelerate their growth.

Dr. Sargeant holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, a master's degree from Iowa State, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
