2024: M&A Milestones, Creative Impact, and Global Progress at Genaesis

As we near the end of the year, we at Genaesis are looking back on an incredibly important past twelve months

Coming out of the pandemic we needed to adapt to new market, client, and business needs. Fortunately this has led to some very positive outcomes, and we are pleased to share our annual update.

We completed five client M&A transactions this year and were thrilled to have represented both sides of two of those outstanding deals. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such talented and professional teams, and I am especially appreciative of our newly promoted Director of Advisory Services, Meghan O’Brien in supporting these engagements. We have now completed nearly $150,000,000 in buy-side transactions and over $50,000,000 in sell side transactions, with all but one being a women-owned, minority-owned, or service disabled veteran owned client - making Genaesis one of the countries largest impact focused M&A firms.

On the design side, it has been five years since we were fortunate enough to have acquired Kelly-Anne Design, and two years since we launched Genaesis Creative. Led by the incredible work of Kelly Cassella, Genaesis Creative now has over 60% of their clients supporting mission focused organizations, from helping the oceans, to entrepreneurism, to military veterans, to ensuring US global leadership - we are proud of the companies and communities we serve and are looking forward to another fantastic year supporting our client partners.

At Genaesis, we have always been focused on public policy and public service, and this year I was appointed to my third, four-year term as a cleared advisor, providing detailed innovation, IP policy, and trade recommendations to the President of the United States through the US Trade Rep and US Secretary of Commerce. In addition, the Honorable Winslow Sargeant, Ph.D. represented Genaesis as a speaker at a number of global policy leadership gatherings including the Millikan Institute’s Global Conference, the United Nations MSME day celebration, and International Council for Small Business (ICSB) gatherings in Egypt, Azerbaijan, and Washington DC. Last year, I joined him at the US-Nigeria Investment Summit. This year, I was proud to be Winslow's guest again, advocating for improved global economic infrastructure at the United Nations MSME day celebration in New York.

Finally, this year we began giving back in a more direct way as well. I have joined the board of Global Impact Initiative a 501(c)3 nonprofit focused on impact philanthropy. Together we launched Gii.Gives – where every $1,000 raised will have $1,000,000 of economic impact on refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine.

It has been an intense and productive year - including a personal goal of completing an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Thank you to all of our employees, clients, and partners for their tireless work in making this year a success.

Best,

Erin-Michael Gill
